Hi John,
Today is Labor Day, a day to commemorate the workers who keep America running. From building our roads and bridges, to growing and preparing our food, to teaching our children and taking care of our elderly, and to everyone else in between: We depend on America's workers to make this country great.
I’ve dedicated my time in Congress to helping the workers and working families of eastern Connecticut. I’ve fought for legislation like the Workplace Violence Protection For Healthcare and Social Workers Act, which protects nurses, EMTs, and hospital staff from the unacceptable and alarming instances of violence occurring in health care facilities. I’ve worked with EWIB to bring manufacturing back to our region via the Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative (MPI) which has been extremely successful at growing eastern Connecticut’s skilled workforce.
I’ve also advocated for protecting and strengthening our unions and pushed back against Republican attacks on collective bargaining and union power.
The radical right doesn’t care about the issues that matter to working folks. They’re happy to ship our jobs overseas, bail out the big corporations who rip off Americans, and vote against legislation that grows jobs and improves our country. My opponent, Mike France, won’t stand up for workers, but I do.
If you’re able to chip in today to keep me fighting for eastern Connecticut’s workforce in Congress, I would appreciate it.
Thank you for your time,
