I’m fighting for workers

Hi john,
My grandmother Audrey taught me that unions improve the lives of everyday workers, every day.
She showed me why standing with working families and supporting our unions matters—honest wages for honest work, safe working conditions, the opportunity to advance. That’s the lesson I’m celebrating this Labor Day.
I’m honored to have been endorsed by the AFL-CIO Gulf Coast and the AFL-CIO Texas, and to have met so many amazing union supporters at the Women in Labor breakfast on Saturday.
If you support labor like I do, can you chip in now in solidarity? ([link removed])

As I shared yesterday, I was born into a family of union workers. My mother was a nurse in Baltimore and fought to unionize the nurses in the area. My father was a teacher with the Maryland State Teachers Association (now MSEA). Because of what my sister and I learned from our parents, we have protested and boycotted in support of unionization all our lives.
But perhaps my biggest influence in protecting workers was my grandmother, Audrey. She was a coal miner’s daughter from West Virginia. She got her very first pair of glasses when her father’s mine was unionized.
Audrey spent her whole life fighting for workers’ power, and she taught her daughter and her daughter’s daughters to do the same. I’m proud to represent three generations of union supporters in this race.
Labor Day has a special meaning to my family. I take that responsibility seriously as I’m raising my own children and as I’m taking on anti-union Republican extremist Dan Crenshaw.
Unions mean good paying jobs, fair wages for a hard day’s work, stability within a community, owned homes and the American dream. Dan Crenshaw is a threat to all of that. I’m running to make sure he doesn’t tear our dreams down.
Can you take a stand for workers by supporting my pro-union campaign today? Whatever you can contribute will help make sure my support for unions carries the day on November 8, and that I can bring that support to Congress. ([link removed])
