** Help us make 2020 the year for transport
------------------------------------------------------------

Season's Greetings,

Whether you support better bus services, reopening rail lines and stations, reforming rail fares, cleaning up the air in our towns and cities, connecting rural communities or tackling congestion, we're working hard year-round to bring sustainable transport to more communities.

Transport matters because it affects us all, connecting millions of people to the things that are important in their lives. Improving local transport has been a priority for all the main political parties in this year's election, so there's real hope that a brighter future lies ahead for our public transport network. Good news for people like Hilary from Suffolk who told us why buses matter to her:
"I can get into town and out to the supermarket. I can meet my friends for coffee and get to hospital appointments. If I go the other way I can get to the sea for the day. Hooray for buses... without the bus I'd be lost."
- Hilary, Suffolk

As our most-used form of public transport, buses connect millions of people like Hilary to shops and doctors' surgeries, friends and family, work and school. But until now, there has been no national strategy for buses - as exists for other forms of transport - meaning that bus users have been neglected and services have dwindled.

For years, Campaign for Better Transport has led calls for a National Bus Strategy; now we need your help to ensure that buses remain a focus for the new Government. Joe told us:
"This campaign is so important for the likes of myself who live rurally in the Peak District. Combined with the bus pass, public transport is now my only means of travel for shopping and entertainment and keeping me as fit and active as possible."
- Joe, Derbyshire

A National Bus Strategy has the potential to protect vital bus routes, reconnect communities and make bus travel greener and cheaper. With your help we'll work to ensure that it does all of this and more.

This Christmas, please give what you can to Campaign for Better Transport ([link removed]) . Whether it's a one off donation, or a regular direct debit, it's the support of people like you that enables us to keep on working to bring sustainable transport to more people. Barbara from Cumbria told us:
"I remember the joy when buses eventually came to our village and I have always used them from that day!"
- Barbara, Cumbria

Let's bring that joy to more villages, towns and neighbourhoods.
