Happy Labor Day Friend!
?
Today I'm celebrating Labor Day at the Five County Labor Council Labor Day Picnic in Anderson. This is my second time at the picnic, and I'm looking forward to talking to union members, their families, and the public. This comes right on the heels of four days at the Intermountain Fair in Eastern Shasta - politics is all about getting out and talking to people!
?
So on that note, we're doing a few more events this week and I'd love to see you!
?
On Wednesday David Leon Zink and I will be speaking at the Lake Club in Lake, California starting at 5:00 pm.
?
On Thursday there will to be an event for me, David Leon Zink, and the Chico City Council Candidates at the Chico Democratic Headquarters located at 1361 Esplanade, Chico, CA 95926. Social hour will last from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and then candidate speeches and Q+A's will go until 7:30 pm.
?
You can sign up before (not required, but it will give us an idea of attendance) here: https://www.mobilize.us/cadems/event/502153/?
?
This weekend I will be attending my last Army Reserve Drill Weekend before the election (so no events), but I look forward to hitting the ground running again next week.?
?
I hope that everyone is enjoying their day off today, but don't forget the blood, sweat, and tears shed by organized labor in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Those Labor pioneers are the true heroes for today and their struggles gave us the 40-hour work week, occupational safety, and so much more.
?
These are the values Democrats fought for 100 years ago, and they are just as important today.
?
Thank you,?
