Happy Labor Day, John.

Today we take time to honor the labor movement and celebrate the hard-working Kentuckians who have moved our commonwealth forward.

Unions have helped build our country and raised the standard of living and quality of life for workers. It's because of workers using the power of collective bargaining and demanding safer, better working conditions that we have the 40-hour work-week, no child labor, minimum wage, and so much more.

I'm so grateful for the progress we've made thanks to the tireless efforts of the workers who came before us. But I know there is still more work to be done.

To every Kentuckian who works hard to pay the bills and put food on the table for their family, you deserve support and respect. As governor, I will always stand with Kentucky workers and fight for their rights.

Please join me today in honoring the accomplishments of the labor movement.
