Happy Labor Day, John.
Today and every day, we stand in solidarity with workers and labor rights organizers in the push for living wages, better working conditions, and so much more.
There is no question that St. Louis is a union town and since even before she was elected, Cori has proudly been on the front lines of the labor movement in our community. But Cori also knows that our fight for justice in the workplace has to be far-reaching for us — the regular, everyday people working 40+ hours per week while still struggling to get by — to see real change.
Last year, Cori went down to Bessemer, Alabama to stand in solidarity with Amazon workers fighting for their right to unionize. And when Amazon’s labor practices impacted families in our own community, Cori stepped up on the House Oversight Committee, leading the fight to investigate Amazon’s dangerous safety practices.
And now in St. Louis, Cori is supporting local Starbucks workers in their efforts to unionize and secure good benefits. Cori won't ever stop speaking out on behalf of workers' rights or fighting to pass the PRO Act because she's lived the struggle so many families go through to make ends meet.
We know every worker deserves a union — and we are more motivated than ever to keep pushing for workers' rights in Congress.
Let's keep up the fight,
Team Cori
