I needed to reach out and wish each and every one of you a very Happy Labor Day.
Today, we remember the long legacy of workers’ rights and labor activists that have helped build and shape our country. We are living through a reinvigoration of workers' movements, and as the child of a teacher and a nurse, I stand in solidarity with workers.

Joining King Soopers employees in the fight for a living wage, affordable health care and safe working conditions earlier this year.
Unions are one of the most important collective action tools we have. When workers are empowered and respected, everyone benefits. As Secretary of State, I will always stand with workers.
I hope that you take today to take full advantage of everything Colorado has to offer. And remember those who have fought for decent work conditions and dignity for all of us.
