Folks, this Labor Day, I'm thinking a lot about my parents.
I learned everything that I know today about the value of hard work and public service from my parents. My mother spent 33 years in the local public school district before she retired and taught me the importance of fighting for the next generation.
My father was a union ironworker who also served in the New Mexico state legislature. It's from him that I learned the value of fighting tirelessly for what's good and standing against the things that are wrong.
This Labor Day, I wanted to take a moment to honor both of my parents' legacies, but also to celebrate all that American workers have accomplished. From our nation's doctors, teachers, service workers, care workers and to everyone in between – it is truly thanks to the hard work of all of you that America is as successful as it is.
But, folks, the hard truth is that so many of my Republican colleagues in the Senate will always put the interests of megacorporations before hardworking Americans.
That's why I've dedicated my career to fighting for working families like my own, but I can only continue my work with your help. So please, will you chip in $5 or more now to help fuel my fight for America's workers?

Con gratitud,
Ben Ray
