Happy Labor Day, John!
I hope those of you who have the day off today are getting some much needed rest! And for those of you who don’t, then this message is especially for you:
As you probably already know, the norms of work many of us enjoy today — 8 hour work days, safe working conditions, benefits — haven’t always been the standard for our workers. Rather, they’re the result of decades-long battles fought by union workers across the country to secure better pay, stronger protections, and treatment with dignity.
We’ve made great strides for our workers over the last century, but our work won’t be done until all our workers can enjoy the protections they’re due. During my time in the Nebraska Legislature, I successfully passed legislation protecting LGBTQ+ Nebraskans from discrimination in the workplace. Unfortunately though, this protection isn’t available to every LGBTQ+ American — and that’s exactly why we need a leader who will make our workers a priority in Congress.
To me, things like protection from discrimination in the workplace and paid family leave are bare-minimum rights that every single working person in this country should have. And in Congress, I’ll fight to be the advocate our workers deserve.
If you believe it’s time to demand better protections for workers, please make a contribution to my campaign for Congress today. Our workers deserve leaders who are ready to support initiatives like nondiscrimination laws and paid family leave on Day One in office:

To workers everywhere: Thank you for all you do — you are the reason I’m in this fight.
All my best,
Patty Pansing Brooks
