# [#]The American labor movement is a vital part of the fabric of this country. Today is a day to honor the legacy of New York workers and workers across the country and the important role they played in building this country’s middle-class.
It is thanks to their struggles and triumphs that we have access to unpaid leave, minimum wage and the 40-hour work week.

While we have many challenges to face, it is because of the leadership and dedication of the labor movement that we have come this far. We must honor their legacy and thank them for their continued role in expanding our economy and opening doors for economic opportunity for all.
Wishing you a fun-filled, happy and safe Labor Day.
Sincerely,
Jerry
