Friend,
This week saw a major victory for fast food workers across the state of
California. After years of unwavering organizing by the fast food workers
of California and their allies, [ [link removed] ]the FAST Recovery Act (AB 257) has
passed the California Legislature.
This momentous bill would allow these workers a seat at the table by
giving them the ability to negotiate their pay and to get the fair
treatment they deserve. For far too long these workers, whom the whole
country deemed essential during the height of the pandemic, have been
mistreated, abused, and denied the wages they so rightfully deserve.
[ [link removed] ]Sign this petition to tell Governor Newsom that fast food workers
deserve a seat at the table.
I, along with groups like Fight for $15 and SEIU, said that enough was
enough, and we joined these workers to advocate for the bill which now
sits on Governor Newsom’s desk, awaiting his signature.
If this bill is approved, California would become the birthplace of a wave
of victories for labor rights across the country. So on this Labor Day, I
ask you to deliver a win to the hard-working fast food workers: [ [link removed] ]Tell
Governor Newsom to sign the FAST Recovery Act into law.
Yours in solidarity,
Ro
