Today is Labor Day, a chance for us to express our appreciation for the hard-working men and women who have made life safer and more prosperous for Americans. From building our roads to working in our hospitals, union workers keep us moving, keep us safe, and provide the backbone to this truly great country.
Since day one, my work in public service has been driven by a commitment to America’s families. And over the years, I’ve been proud to stand with Maine’s unions and their members.
John, will you join me in standing up for workers and pushing for higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions?
It shouldn’t be partisan or divisive to claim that everyone deserves a fair shake from their employers and from our economy. Because at the end of the day, our country functions best when we’re all able to prosper, not just the wealthiest or most powerful among us.
It’s within our power to create a fairer economy, but only if we commit ourselves to work on behalf of the American people.
So today and every day, I promise to keep fighting to make sure our unions remain strong and able to fight for their members. I hope you’ll sign our petition and join our movement to protect organized labor.
