John,

Happy Labor Day. I wanted to take this day to appreciate the sacrifices that working men and women in Ohio and America make, and recognize their value to this country.

I grew up right here all over Northeast Ohio, and my parents worked long hours to put food on the table for us. My dad rode his bike to work every morning, no matter the weather, because we couldn’t afford to have two cars.

I’ve experienced firsthand the sacrifices hardworking Ohioans make every day. As your congressman, I will do everything possible to protect the interests of working class Ohioans.

Our workers deserve better representation. I will work to increase the minimum wage, secure further protections for union rights, ensure big corporations meet basic working standards, and protect medicare and social security so hardworking Ohioans know they can retire securely.

My opponent, Max Miller, was recorded calling working people “takers.” He argued workers “have a sense of entitlement” and that they “take take take take but they never give.”

Max doesn’t even hold a job and he makes more than the average American, and is worth up to fourteen million dollars just off of his trust funds. He’s out of touch with the hardworking men and women who make Ohio exceptional, and shouldn’t represent us in Congress.

We’re running a campaign of the working class. I'm proud to have the support of hardworking Ohioans across our district, including the Ironworkers Local 17 union from Cleveland. We’re not fueled by donations from the ultra-wealthy and big corporations like too many current politicians.

Our working class roots give us a unique connection to the working class families that make up Ohio's 7th district. Let's use that connection to win this November.

Sincerely,

Matthew Diemer
