Happy Labor Day, John!
Today, I’m celebrating the working people of Philadelphia and their invaluable contributions to our city. The American labor movement and our organized unions have fought so hard to create fairer working conditions for all, and I am deeply grateful for their tireless efforts.
In a city as large and lively as Philadelphia, we could not operate without our workers whose labor keeps our great city running today and every day — I'm dedicated to continuing my advocacy to improve the quality of life for all workers in Philadelphia.
While we’ve certainly made progress since the beginning of the labor movement, there’s still much more work to be done — from paying our workforce livable wages, to closing the income inequality gap, we can make great strides together.
Have a safe and happy holiday.
