[1]Cheri Beasley for North Carolina

Hi there,

I want to take a moment today to recognize and thank the labor movement for all it has done for our country.

On Labor Day, we honor the contributions and dignity of the workers who make our country strong. As a proud former SEIU member, I know firsthand just how important the benefits and protections are that we have been afforded by the labor movement.

We are all better off because of the tireless efforts of workers and the labor movement. They fought and secured 8-hour workdays, weekends, better wages, and improved safety in the workplace.

I know these fights are not over. We need leaders in Washington who will fight for investments in vocational and training programs, who will raise the minimum wage to $15/hour, and who will work tirelessly to level the playing field for working people.

So let me be clear: I will never stop fighting for working people as your next Senator. That is my promise to you and your family. It’s time that North Carolina had a champion for every worker in our state in the U.S. Senate.

Happy Labor Day!
