I want to take just a moment to wish you a happy Labor Day.

But while we enjoy the long weekend, it's important that we also reflect and remember that the protections and benefits that we enjoy today would never have been possible without the labor movement.

Today is about more than just commemorating and honoring the workers who have fought in the labor movement for eight-hour workdays, weekends, overtime, safer workplaces, Social Security, Medicare, and so much more. It's also about recommitting to supporting the workers who are still fighting for safe and fair workplaces all across our nation.

I hope you'll join me today in celebrating the progress made by the American labor movement and recommit to continuing the fight for working people.
