Team – Happy Labor Day!

First, I hope you're having a safe and relaxing holiday. I also wanted to tell you a little bit about what Labor Day means to me.

As Oakland County’s Congresswoman, I’ve always worked to ensure workers and unions are supported here in MI-11. Workers are the backbone of this country, and when workers are better off, we’re all better off.

For years, labor movements have fought for fair wages and better working conditions. And while we’ve come a long way from the labor battles we saw a century ago, still too many of our workers aren’t receiving the benefits they deserve.

That’s why I’ve fought so hard for workers in Congress. When President Biden signed my bill, the CHIPS Act, into law a few months ago, my thoughts were with the millions of Americans who will benefit from these new safe, good-paying jobs.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, but I know there’s still so much more we can do to support American unions and workers.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday, while also recognizing the value of America’s workers, both past and present.
