Dear Comrade,
Labor Day became a national holiday for the workers in 1894 to recognize the mistreatment of workers and has come to celebrate laborers' contributions. We continue to fight for fair treatment and union approval recently hit 71%!
Akron DSA is celebrating Labor Day this afternoon, Sept 5, from 2 to 4pm, at Boettler Park. We have a pavilion, and will be there even if it's raining.
Starbucks Workers United is hosting a panel on Intersectionality in the Labor Movement call, tonight, Sept 5, 7p, featuring one of our members
You can support current union organizing by attending the upcoming DSA Labor Ohio Logistics Call, Sept 29, 8p. Amazon and UPS workers are building power; join the call to see how you can help (getting involved in the logistics industry, strike support).
If you want to learn more about the labor movement in the US, check out all the free documentaries from PBS that show workers' rights activism for over 100 years.
You can always support Akron DSA by paying dues monthly or giving a one-time donation.
In solidarity,
Akron DSA
