Hey friends – happy Labor Day!

Today is a day about celebrating our country’s remarkable workers, while recognizing the challenges they still face.

American workers have fought for centuries for better conditions, fair pay, and safety on the job. And while we’ve made significant progress over the years, too many workers are still treated poorly.

From an egregiously low federal minimum wage, to the union-busting tactics we see from massive corporations, today’s battles echo the labor conflicts this country saw over a century ago.

I want to make one thing clear: America wouldn’t work without workers. That’s why I’m proud to have helped pass the American Rescue Plan Act.

This ground-breaking legislation put billions into public transportation, extended unemployment benefits, and created over 8 million good-paying jobs. That’s a significant milestone worth celebrating.

I hope you enjoy this Labor Day holiday, while also recognizing the sacrifices and struggles of the workers who came before us.

– Jim
