Trump isn’t the Democrats’ target. You are.

Let’s be clear: Democrats aren’t actually impeaching Donald Trump, they are attacking our Republic. Congressional Democrats aren’t just trying to undo the 2016 election, they are attempting to overthrow the Rule of Law. When the Democrats look hatefully and scornfully at the president, they don’t see Donald Trump – they see you and me.

Donald Trump isn’t the Democrats’ target. You are.

Land Commissioner George P. Bush has been under fire for plans to “reimagine” the Alamo by – among other things – moving the Cenotaph that honorers the defenders, demoting the 1836 battle’s importance to the site’s history, or even allowing a statue of Santa Anna to be erected on the grounds (which has never actually been proposed). Bush responded by calling his critics racists. Yesterday, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick jumped in the fray, issuing a press release critical of Bush for deriding “anyone who disagrees with the Alamo redesign as... liars and racists.” He said Bush’s words are “offensive and inaccurate.” Brandon Waltens has the details [[link removed]].

Bush’s political allies have in recent weeks floated the idea of him challenging Patrick or Gov. Greg Abbott in 2022. Meanwhile, Bush’s fiercely anti-Trump cousin, Pierce Bush, is running for an open congressional seat in the Houston area this year.

Midland County’s elections administrator might be in hot water with the Midland County Elections Commission following what can only be described as her botched handling of the November election and subsequent recount. The commission has called a meeting for Friday to “discuss and take action on the Elections Administrator.” Matt Stringer reports [[link removed]] the recent handling of the Midland ISD’s bond election has left residents outraged, with hundreds of comments on social media calling for the administrator, Deborah Land, to be fired.

As you might imagine, both pro- and anti-bond groups are planning to contest the Midland election [[link removed]] in court.

It’s just not an election if a lawyer isn’t getting rich...

“Abortions are magical”?! That’s the message a radical leftist group in Texas is promoting this holiday season; the group brags it has “helped girls as young as 11” get abortions. Texas Right to Life has the details [[link removed]].

A grassroots-led campaign, combined with the hard work of candidates, has brought more taxpayer representation to a North Texas Appraisal Board with the successful election of three newcomers, including 2019 Conservative Leader Award winner Rich DeOtte. A few days ago, the homepage of the Cedar Park Middle School website featured information on upcoming events, news, and announcements... and the principal’s Twitter feed filled with anti-Trump messages. Jacob Asmussen reports [[link removed]] Cedar Park Middle School Principal Sandra Stewart, who will retire on Friday after 42 years in education, took to Twitter just days before her retirement to express her disdain of President Trump. The school district has now removed her tweets from the school’s website.

Despite Republicans suffering major losses in Dallas County in 2018, the GOP isn’t fielding candidates in eight races with Democrat incumbents. Erin Anderson has the details [[link removed]] from Dallas.

High taxes and foolish decisions by the Austin City Council is ruining the capital city, writes Lance Keltner in a new commentary [[link removed]].

“It takes special skill to run a rent-free business downtown and lose twice as much money as you make!” — Lance Keltner
