If you didn’t get a chance to sign up for your health care through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) before Sunday’s deadline -- you still have time. Because of some technical difficulties on the enrollment website a few hours before the weekend’s deadline, the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services have agreed to extend the deadline for enrollment until midnight this Wednesday, December 18.           Nearly 4 million Oregonians are covered by the ACA -- legislation that has helped us cut the uninsured rate in our state by two-thirds. Thanks to tax credits that help put plans in reach for everyone, policies are available to many Oregonians for just $50 or $100 per month, and assistance is available by visiting localhelp.healthcare.gov or calling 1-800-318-2596. If you need coverage, I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to sign up for affordable, comprehensive health care, and please help me in spreading the word to your family, friends, and neighbors about this deadline extension.
