Hi, it’s Lori Lightfoot, your Chicago mayor.

Yesterday, my team told you that we were collecting signatures to qualify for the 2023 ballot in every ward of Chicago. That’s a huge undertaking!

You might not know, but every candidate needs to collect 12,500 signatures -- that’s triple the amount that other big cities like New York require (and they must all be collected in person).

For years, the establishment used this policy to maintain control of the city. But we broke down that wall in 2018. And we’re going to do it again in 2022.

This is an expensive undertaking, and I need your help. Can you contribute $20 or more to help make sure our volunteers have what they need to collect 12,500 signatures and qualify for the ballot?

Did you know that each person running for Mayor of Chicago has to collect 12,500 signatures to qualify for the ballot? That’s nearly three times more than our own governor!

Here’s the bottom line: If we’re going to keep Chicago moving forward with Mayor Lightfoot at the helm, we need all hands on deck. That’s why we’re canvassing to collect signatures in EVERY ward of Chicago this weekend.

Collecting signatures is expensive. We need resources to organize events, purchase supplies like clipboards and snacks, and buy matching shirts for our team.

So we need to ask for your help. Can you contribute $20 or more to help us collect signatures in EVERY ward of Chicago this weekend?

Thanks for your help,

Team Lightfoot
