Hi, it’s Lori Lightfoot, your Chicago mayor. Yesterday, my team told you that we were collecting signatures to qualify for the 2023 ballot in every ward of Chicago. That’s a huge undertaking! You might not know, but every candidate needs to collect 12,500 signatures -- that’s triple the amount that other big cities like New York require (and they must all be collected in person). For years, the establishment used this policy to maintain control of the city. But we broke down that wall in 2018. And we’re going to do it again in 2022.

Here’s the bottom line: If we’re going to keep Chicago moving forward with Mayor Lightfoot at the helm, we need all hands on deck. That’s why we’re canvassing to collect signatures in EVERY ward of Chicago this weekend. Chip in to help our volunteers collect signatures this weekend in every ward of Chicago → Collecting signatures is expensive. We need resources to organize events, purchase supplies like clipboards and snacks, and buy matching shirts for our team. Thanks for your help, Team Lightfoot
