740 meters
After recent heavy rains and resulting flooding, a new 740-meter-long bypass was added to the Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Facility's sole access road between late July and early August. The new section should provide unobstructed access to the command center during future flooding events.

62 aircraft
On August 31, Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense reported seven Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy vessels and 62 PLA aircraft in areas around the island. This marked the highest number of aircraft reported since August 7, when China’s large-scale exercises were still ongoing.
