I grew up in public housing on the west side of Savannah, Georgia, with 11 brothers and sisters. Money might have been short, but we were always long on love and faith. With the support of my family and my community, I became the first in my family to graduate from college – and then I went on to become the senior pastor at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s church.
Now this kid from Kayton Homes public housing is fighting in the Senate to make sure that everyone has a voice in our government – and a fair shot at the American dream.

Right now, I'm working to defend our sacred right to vote, expand affordable health care, and bring economic justice to our communities. But we still have a long way to go in these critical fights for justice, and our entire Democratic agenda hinges on our battleground race here in Georgia.
You see, FiveThirtyEight confirms that Georgia could decide Senate control – which is why the GOP is flooding this race with millions to defeat me. And now polls show me 1 point behind Donald Trump's handpicked candidate, Herschel Walker (R).
I've made the important decision to reject corporate PAC money – so the ONLY way I can defend my seat, our Senate majority, and our progress is with your grassroots support. So please, friend, I'm urgently asking:
