Orange County Professional Firefighters Endorse Mike Levin For Re-Election To Congress

John --

The Orange County Professional Firefighters Association (OCPFA) has become the latest organization of local first responders to endorse Congressmember Mike Levin for re-election.

“We need members of Congress who understand that, due to global climate change, wildfires are becoming a much more serious and permanent threat to California communities. Firefighters are supporting Mike Levin because he is a national leader in addressing this threat.”

Tim Steging, President of the OCPFA

Congressmember Levin helped pass the bipartisan Disaster Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2019, a comprehensive emergency disaster bill to increase federal funding for California wildfire recovery and prevention. The disaster package provides $12.4 billion in emergency spending nationwide to help meet the urgent needs of American communities recovering from recent wildfires and other natural disasters.

“The firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians of the OCPFA put their lives on the line to protect our safety and property. We owe them, not only our thanks, but our tangible material support so that they are as safe and effective as possible. We can support them as well by enacting comprehensive public policies to lessen the frequency and devastating impact of wildfire. I am deeply honored to have their endorsement.” responded Congressmember Levin.

Mike Levin has also been endorsed by the Oceanside Firefighters Association, representing first responders in the Congressional District’s largest city.

The OCPFA represents over 1,000 firefighters and emergency responders covering 23 Orange County cities, scores of unincorporated communities, and 175,000 acres of vulnerable wildlands.
