On Thursday, President Biden delivered an eloquent prime-time address to the nation from Independence Hall, right here in Philadelphia, on exactly what we’ve been saying all along:
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election, and they’re working right now as I speak in state after state to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself…
They tried everything last time to nullify the votes of 81 million people. This time, they’re determined to succeed in thwarting the will of the people.”

John, President Biden is exactly right about that, and his call to action: “For a long time, we’ve told ourselves that American democracy is guaranteed, but it’s not. Next, in just a few hours, the Commonwealth will hear from former President Donald Trump. He will take the stage for the first time since the FBI recovered stolen classified documents from Mar-a-Lago, and he will deliver what will no doubt be a self-pitying speech to his enablers about how he is the victim of a massive, unfair witch hunt — just days after admitting that he knew where and how the documents were stored.
He will almost certainly repeat his blatant lies about the election being stolen, and in doing so, he will prove the truth behind President Biden’s speech and what we’ve been saying all along. If the candidates set to join Trump for his support at this rally win in November, our democracy will not be the same.
