John, Here at the NDRC, our team is working hard to show voters that our democracy is on the line in this election. And we just got some good news on that front: In a recent poll from NBC News, voters ranked “threats to democracy” as the top issue facing the country. Let me be clear: The persistent Republican attacks on our democracy are terrible. But the fact that voters are recognizing those attacks as the existential threat they are gives me hope. It means that our plan to protect our system of government can succeed. We can help elect Democrats who will defend fair elections, we can counter Trump and the GOP’s lies, we can protect the freedom to vote and critical election infrastructure – if we have the resources to do it all.
Look, John. You and I may understand the difference between our two major political parties (while one of them embraces free and fair elections, the other is embracing candidates who literally attacked the U.S. Capitol). But we have to make sure voters in states across the country understand it, too. That’s where our expanded electoral program comes in. We’re fighting in 17 states to ensure supporters of democracy win. We’ve endorsed 14 candidates who could be critical lines of defense. And we can’t do this or any of our work without your support. Everything is on the line, and we need everyone on the field. You, yes, you, can make a difference, John – will you pitch in right now to support all our work? In gratitude,
