Hi John – as a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, Matt has worked hard to pass a government spending bill ahead of the deadline at the end of this week.

Today, that bill was passed through the House. It makes important investments in election security to protect our democracy, it boosts environmental protections and will promote energy innovation, and it robustly funds education programs like Head Start.

It also breaks some new ground. After two decades of inaction, funding for federal gun violence research has been secured. The spending package also protects our kids by raising the age for tobacco use to 21.

Matt has fought hard to bring a bipartisan bill to the floor for a vote which avoids a government shutdown at the end of the week.

But despite this, the attack ads on Matt calling him a crazed partisan will continue to flood the airwaves of our district. We’ll need your support to ensure that our message of bipartisanship and results can rise above the noise.
