John,
I want to thank you for your continued support for my campaign. August is typically a slow fundraising month, but thanks to you -- and thousands of supporters across California and the country -- we met our goal and are heading into Fall with strength.
Last month, Michelle Steel made one thing clear: if given another term in Congress, she will continue pushing the Republicans’ “MAGA” agenda that erodes the middle class and strips away our liberties. She’s been unapologetic in her effort to enact a federal abortion ban, and she still has no answer when pressed about her party’s threats to end Medicare and Social Security.
This campaign is about offering an alternative to Steel’s chaos, and whether we’re knocking on doors or hosting meet-and-greets, we’re seeing a significant uptick in voters who are concerned about how extreme today’s GOP has become. We’re also sensing some optimism about the progress we're making -- on reducing inflation, tackling the student debt crisis, and climate change.
We have a number of meet-and-greets planned in the coming weeks to get a sense of how voters’ are feeling before Election Day. Since I can’t speak to each one of you personally, I’d love to get your thoughts on a few pressing issues through this brief survey:
