Discussed School Security, Infrastructure, and Technology at Harlandale ISD in San Antonio

As our kids go back to school, it is vital that they have all the resources they need to succeed. That’s why I met with Harlandale ISD Superintendent Gerardo Soto and Chief of Police Adolfo Hernandez this week. I look forward to continuing to work with them to update their school security, infrastructure and technology.

Stopped by Somerset ISD

I stopped by Somerset ISD this week to talk with Superintendent Saul Hinojosa about mental health resources and the safety of our students. It is important that we have open, honest conversations about mental health in our schools and that we provide access to resources that students are comfortable using.

Discussed Supply Chain Operations at Omni Logistics in El Paso

This week I toured Omni Logistics warehouses with station manager, Rick Moya in El Paso. During my visit, we discussed the importance of international trade relations, the distribution process, and the effects that labor and truck driver shortages have on the supply chain. I am thankful for people like Rick who work relentlessly each day to keep shelves stocked and make sure that Texans are taken care of.

Discussed the Importance of Blue Collar Jobs in America

The oil and gas industry is a key pillar of our economy, and regulations that threaten this vital industry could destroy many communities in the U.S. I recently met with the TIPRO Summer Conference Board of Directors to discuss the importance of these blue-collar jobs in Texas, and across America.

Visited the Helotes House of Neighborly Service

Supporting local food banks is a great way to support your local community. I toured the Helotes House of Neighborly Service food pantry with President Joseph Beach. We discussed the work he does to provide meals to families in need. It is important that we partner with people like Joseph to make sure that Texans are taken care of.

Discussed Inflation's Impact on TX-23

The price of goods has gone through the roof. TX-23 is a blue collar district filled with hard working Texans who are just trying to provide for their families. The Biden administration has forgotten everyday Americans who need to put food on the table and gas in the tank. Watch my recent interview on Newsmax here:

Announced $500K to Improve Wastewater Infrastructure in El Paso County

Thanks to a partnership between the North American Development Bank and the Lower Valley Water District, $500,000 has been awarded to provide first-time wastewater services to over 900 residents in the Rosa Azul subdivision in Socorro, TX. I am committed to improving the infrastructure of our border communities and look forward to supporting future projects like these. Read my full press release here.
