Friends,

I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

My Thoughts on Joe Biden's Divisive Rhetoric

In light of President Biden's speech, I thought this would be an excellent time to remind folks that I've signed on to not one, but two articles of impeachment against him. When you label over half the American people as "threats to democracy," you have no business being President of the United States.

Joe Biden vilified all who oppose him in his extremism-fueled speech of hate, and this destructive, disturbing rhetoric is a far cry from "restoring the soul of the nation." For more of my thoughts on this, click HERE.

Student Loan "Forgiveness"

The fact that the average American taxpayer will cost around $2,000 for student loan "forgiveness" should come as a surprise to no one, and this estimate does not even include the damaging effect this will have on rising costs, inflation, and the economy. There's no such thing as free lunch, and debt "forgiveness" is transferring the cost to the taxpayer. I'll continue to do all I can to fight this.

The President has no authority to "forgive" federal student debt and force taxpayers to foot the bill. We know Joe Biden has overstepped his authority, and Speaker Pelosi knows it, too, when she said year when she said the president "does not have the power" to do this. This is why we are calling on her to hold Biden accountable for this taxpayer-funded, $300 billion debt handout.  To read more about this, click HERE.

Rush-to-Green Energy Consequences

Last week, California announced its plan to ban the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035 in a widespread push toward electric vehicles. This week, California asked residents to avoid charging EVs and to conserve energy due to grid vulnerability and the risk of blackout. My question is: how California’s electric grid will support a population of EVs in just over a decade? This is a consequence of the Left’s unsustainable, rush-to-green energy agenda. An all-of-the-above energy strategy, however, allows for energy security and grid reliability. To read more about this, click HERE.

Post-COVID Test Scores "Falloff" for Students

The historic "falloff" of test scores is a result of forcing children into social isolation and allowing left-leaning teachers' unions to call the shots instead of parents. We are now facing the repercussions of locking down our schools and society in the name of "public health." This is not to mention the other destructive implications the COVID shutdowns and hysteria had on children’s mental health and wellbeing. How long will it take us to recover from this drastic shift? We will continue to fight for the rights of our children. To read more about this, click HERE.

Protecting Children's Innocence

Children should not be allowed to undergo body-mutilating, often irreversible surgeries in the name of "gender affirmation." Period. I cosponsored the Protect Children's Innocence Act because our children's well-being must be protected from these cruel, deeply damaging procedures.

Biden's "No Consequences" Border Policy

A "no consequences" border policy from the Biden Administration has led to disastrous outcomes, and every state is now a border state. This will only continue to become worse with a White House that turns a blind eye to this national security and humanitarian crisis. I am continuing to fight for a secure southern border and for rule of law to be enforced. Click HERE for more about this.

More on the FBI...

Timothy Thibault, an FBI special agent accused of anti-conservative political bias regarding the Hunter Biden investigation and other matters, has resigned. Time and time again, we have seen how the FBI has become increasingly politicized and untrustworthy. From misleading Congress regarding the Russian collusion hoax to ignoring/lying about the Clinton emails to suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story, concerns about the FBI’s integrity continue to mount. A full investigation is needed, and I will continue to fight for congressional oversight. To read more about this, click HERE.

Renewing Your Passport

Whether you plan to travel out of the country in the near future or not, I encourage you to update your passport if it is soon to expire. U.S. passports must be renewed every nine and a half years, and it is a good idea to be proactive about updating your passport, as some countries will not let you travel within six months of your passport’s expiration. Passport agencies are extremely overwhelmed at this time, and the turnaround time to expedite your passport is around five to seven weeks. In-person emergency appointments are also extremely limited in Atlanta. For more information on renewing your passport or applying for the first time, click HERE. If you have any further questions regarding passports, please reach out to my Anderson office.

In the District

Bosch is expanding operations in Anderson County, with the Anderson facility creating 350 new jobs with a $200M investment. This expansion will begin the first production operation of fuel cell technology in the United States.

Presbyterian College breaks ground on an $8.2 million athletic facility. This has been a project some describe as decades in the making and two of the projects for the athletic facilities improvements have been named. The first is the Championship Spirit initiative, which is a weight room renovation. The second is the John McIntosh Athletic Center which honors a 1961 alumnus.

It is an honor to serve the Third District of South Carolina. Should you or your family need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my office directly.

Blessings and Liberty,
