96 Prime Time Distraction Chairman Kyle Hupfer speaks to ABC 57
after the Second Congressional District caucuses. (Aug. 20, 2022)
Last
night, less than nine weeks before the election, Joe Biden decided to
give a prime time address to the nation.
No, it wasn't about how his
administration is working to combat 40-year high inflation or
skyrocketing food prices; it wasn't about the overall state of the
economy and the warning signs of a worsening recession; it wasn't about
the southern border that people are quite literally walking across; it
wasn't about bringing the country together.
Instead, standing in
front of Independence Hall flanked by two U.S. Marines, Joe Biden gave a
political speech that only sought to divide.
After a recent string of
so-called "wins," you would think the president would have much more
important things to talk about. Yet, he decided to continue a campaign
that should have ended nearly two years ago. This is not something a
presidential administration, confident in its actions, would decide to
do.
Some call last night a "prime time address," I would call it a
"prime time distraction."
Enjoy this week’s newsletter, share it with
a friend, and I hope you have a great Labor Day Weekend.
Sincerely,
Chairman Kyle Hupfer
 Governor Holcomb's Week That WasTalking
Innovation in Indiana On Wednesday, Gov. Holcomb joined the Next Level
Fund Summit to discuss what the state is doing doing to propel Indiana
as a thriving hub for tech and venture capital investment.
Op-ed: Holcomb: Building economy of future with strong friends,
valued global partners By Gov. Eric Holcomb
Sept. 1, 2022
As I
return from our trip to Asia this week, I have much to report. The world
has never been smaller and more connected, and we have made even more
inroads in ensuring that Indiana is at the forefront of the global
economy. At every stop, every meeting, every visit in Taiwan and South
Korea, we are hearing the same message: Indiana is leading the way in
building the industries and economy of the future.
Our strong STEM
universities, such as Purdue University and Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology, make us an ideal partner in cultivating a skilled talent
pipeline.
Our current investments and partnerships are giving us
great momentum in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, electric
vehicles, agbiosciences and life sciences.
And, our focus on
innovation and new technology will well position the state’s economy
and, more importantly, Hoosiers for the next 5, 10, 15 and 20 years.
