RPV's Weekly Newsletter

Fellow Republican,

Welcome back to the Republican Rundown--your weekly email highlighting the important work that the Republican Party of Virginia is doing to ensure we elect Republicans across the Commonwealth.

We concluded last week by attending the combined office opening of the Pittsylvania GOP and Danville GOP, where we were greeted with an unbelievable amount of energy from their grassroots activists. Their new headquarters will serve as a perfect place to congregate for political business ahead of November.

A special thank you to Congressman Bob Good (VA-05), Delegate Danny Marshall, Pittsylvania Chair Will Pace, Danville Chair Mark Nicholson, and the countless local elected officials who were in attendance.

This week, we attended the Hanover Woman's Club meet and greet with Lt. Governor Winsome Sears. It was welcomed to see such a massive group of ladies from Hanover socialize and strategize ahead.

Unfortunately, our staff had so much fun with the group that they failed to take any photos of the great event. A special thank you to the Chair of the Hanover Republican Women's Club Nancy Russell for organizing the event, and to the Ball family for their hospitality.

On Wednesday, we ventured out to Madison County and met with their local Republican Unit. We were welcomed with open arms by their committee, as they are extremely motivated to get out to community events to get Yesli Vega elected to Congress! Thank you to Madison Chairman Anthony Jewett,as well as Board of Supervisors Representatives Jim Jewett and Dustin Dawson for leading and updating the unit!

Have an event or meeting that you would like the RPV to attend? Please contact Noah Lerman at [email protected]!

The Republican Party of Virginia is excited to present you with updates from the great campaigns fighting for Republican values in districts that have long been mired by democrat representatives!  We excited to be working with these campaigns to remind these entrenched democrats that they are not safe in their seats and that the red wave is coming!

The Leon Benjamin campaign in Virginia’s 4 th Congressional District has been hosting Super Saturdays every weekend.  Most recently they engaged Latino voters strengthening the in-roads in that community made by Governor Glenn Youngkin!  To date, the Benjamin campaign has knocked thousands of doors and are seeing the excited response from voters about a red wave this November! The Benjamin Campaign plans to continue their door to door engagement all the way up to election day, so if you are interested in helping the campaign in their efforts please send an email detailing your interest coupled with your contact information to Angie Heyming at [email protected] ( [email protected] ).

Karina Lipsman’s Campaign for congress in Virginia’s 8 th Congressional District, in partnership with the Jim Myles for Congress Campaign in Virginia’s 11 th Congressional District, had a great field program kickoff event with Governor Glenn Youngkin headlining the event to encourage supporters to engage voters on the doors! They have since had a women’s walk-a-thon where volunteers knocked thousands of doors! If you want to become a part of this movement and join the Lipsman campaign in their efforts to engage voters, please send an email to [email protected] ( [email protected] ).

In Virginia’s 11 th Congressional District, Jim Myles’ Campaign for Congress has also been going strong on their field program after their kick-off event with Governor Glenn Youngkin.   The energy is palpable on the ground and is only getting stronger!  If you want to help Jim Myles in his efforts, please send an email to [email protected] ( [email protected] ).

Terry Namkung’s campaign in Virginia’s 3 rd Congressional District has established their field program and are engaging voters on Rep. Don McEachin’s horrendous voting record and outlining Terry Namkung’s plans to represent the community’s needs in Congress!   If you live in the 3 rd Congressional District or want to help the campaign in some way, please contact Helen Sharpe at [email protected] ( [email protected] ) !

With your help we will be taking back the house this November and keeping Virginia red!  If you haven’t connected with any of the campaigns yet to see how you can help, we encourage you to do so because we need every republican fighting to roll back the damage done by the democrats!

Also, this year, there are dozens of Special Elections in several counties for local positions. Isle of Wight County has two School Board Special Elections, and our Party is supporting a nominee in each District. If victorious, Mark Wooster ( [link removed] ) (Newport) and Jason Maresh ( [link removed] ) (Windsor) would flip the County School Board from Democrat to Republican and join their colleague John Collick (Carrsville) in the majority.

Why is this important? On January 15, Governor Youngkin signed Executive Order #2 to terminate mask mandates in public schools, but the Isle of Wight School Board resisted and opted to continue enforcing the mandate. Governor Youngkin overwhelmingly won Isle of Wight County with nearly 65% of the vote in November 2021. We hope you will learn more about Mark and Jason and consider supporting their campaigns!
