John- Joe Biden just delivered what amounts to possibly the most demagogic, divisive, and destructive speech by a President of the United States. I’ll sum up the speech for you in case you were lucky enough not to see it: Joe Biden said that Republicans - half of the country - “do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people.” Joe Biden went on to say that Republicans “fan the flames of political violence”... are a “threat to our personal rights”... and are “determined to take this country backwards.” They say pictures are worth a thousand words, and the terrible tenor of Joe Biden’s speech was captured in one image. See for yourself: So much for what Joe Biden said in November 2020, when he said, “I will work to be a president who seeks not to divide but unify. I won’t see red states and blue states, I will always see the United States.” That was obviously a lie, as we heard clearly in Biden’s speech last night. Not only was it a speech full of lies, hate, and vitriol, it lacked self-awareness to an unbelievable degree. Respect for the Constitution? How does attacking our Second Amendment rights, like this administration and their allies in Congress have done repeatedly, amount to respecting our Constitution? How about attacking the First Amendment rights of parents protesting school board meetings and likening them to domestic terrorists? Respect for the rule of law? Tell that to the Texas border counties who are threatened every single day by the worst border crisis in decades or the Americans living in cities overrun by crime because Democrats refuse to uphold our country’s laws. Fanning the flames of political violence? A would-be assassin literally showed up at the house of a Supreme Court Justice to murder him and his family because of the rhetoric of this president and his party after a Supreme Court decision they didn’t like. This shows you exactly how desperate Democrats are to hold onto power in November. They will say and do anything to keep Republicans from taking back control of Congress, even if it means painting half of the country as Constitution-hating, racist deplorables simply because people are fed up with the disastrous consequences of one-party rule in Washington. We need to fight back, but we need to fight to win. The way we respond to a speech like that is by committing all of our time, resources, and energy into taking back the House and Senate. We respond by offering the American people an inspiring, uplifting alternative to the divisive demagoguery we saw from President Biden last night. That’s how we show Joe Biden and his Democrat allies in Congress that a speech like that doesn’t discourage us, it motivates us to action. I’m ready to do that, and I know you are too.
