#LowcountryFirst Pass In Review |September 2nd, 2022 Wrapping up Summer Happy Friday and cheers to the holiday weekend ahead. We had a busy week connecting with so many of you across the Lowcountry and we are looking forward to seeing more of you in the coming weeks. Earlier this week, we hosted a few fun events. Thanks to everyone who came out to Cocktails With Your Congresswoman on Isle of Palms. It was a beautiful afternoon and we enjoyed meeting all of you and giving you an update from DC. We also want to thank everyone who came out to our event in Port Royal. We always enjoy the chance to connect directly with our constituents and listen to your concerns. This week we sent a letter with Ranking Member James Comer to the Department of Energy to learn more about the sale of America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve to a Chinese state-owned oil company. Over $100 million dollars of our vital resources were sold off and may even have helped support Putin’s horrific invasion of Ukraine. We must be certain that American resources are not being used by our adversaries. Read the full statement here. We also worked this week to help combat big tech censorship. The Oversight Committee sent a letter to Mark Zuckerberg to learn more about Facebook’s potential censorship of investigations into the President’s family and their misconduct. We requested all communications between Facebook, the FBI, and the Democratic National Committee. We must be sure Big Tech does not go unchecked. We have more great events coming up next week. Join us on Edisto Island on Wednesday the 7th at 4:00 pm. Don’t forget to RSVP here! Also, please join us Friday, September 9th in Hanahan to kick off the weekend at 5:00 pm. Don’t forget to RSVP here! Our office is still in search of interns for the Fall. If you are interested in joining our team in Charleston, Beaufort or Washington please fill out an application here. These are incredible opportunities to gain experience, learn about the legislative process, and learn more about public service! Are you living in the Lowcountry with an adorably cute dog? Every weekend, we highlight one District Dog on our social media platforms. Submit your dog here. As always, if you need us, call us. Whether you need help with a passport, issues with receiving your tax refund or the Veterans Administration, please reach out to our office if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to be heard on any issue at any time. Happy Labor Day and enjoy the long weekend ahead! Sincerely, Congresswoman Nancy Mace Visit My Website DISTRICT DOG OF THE WEEK District Dog 🐶 This week's District Dog is Shelby!
