The latest study estimates that 25,000 species face extinctionby the turn of the century if we fail to take action to reduce emissions immediately.
However, there is some good news. And hope.
The researchers suggest enacting severe cuts and reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 will drastically reduce the risk of extinction for almost all species. This will also help stabilize ecosystems and benefit food-insecure nations.
John, President Biden signed the ‘Inflation Reduction Act,’ which provides $369 billion to fund energy and climate projects to reduce U.S. carbon emissions by 40% by 2030.
