Dear Democrats,

It's not to late become a sponsor for our annual Foster Teen Gift Drive. For years, before FCDC took on this commitment of providing holiday and birthday gift support to every foster teen, no community group was serving this age group. After our years of continued support, we are happy to share some success stories as we should be proud to live in a county where Democratic values have helped these deserving teens succeed.

Isaiah - Since coming to the United States at the age of 16, Isaiah has mastered the English language and excelled in high school.

Because of the Fostering Futures program run by Fairfax County Social Services and additional community support like the Democrats' annual gift drive, he did graduate from Fairfax County Public Schools. Isaiah was a National Honor Society student and is now attending George Mason University, a decision he made after being accepted to all five universities to which he applied.

Jessica - She also graduated from High School through the support of Fostering Futures. This important program allows foster teens to receive county housing and social worker support until 21, so they can finish their educational goals. Jessica is an honor roll student and attends community college and dreams of one day being a wedding planner and studying interior design.

She is a talented singer, artist, and dancer. When she is not working hard to stay on the honor roll, Jessica enjoys cooking, writing, drawing, and singing. Throughout her academic career, Jessica has been active in dance and chorus.
