Are you ready for our Virtual Advocacy Days? We are! As we gear up for another round of advocating for Palestinian rights on Capitol Hill, we’re excited to announce this year’s plenary sessions, where you’ll get to hear from experts in the field to better prepare for your meetings with Members of Congress. See more below! 

Session 1 | Congressional Plenary

  • Learn what Members of Congress are doing about justice and accountability in Palestine. 
  • Attend "The Champion of Palestinian Rights Award" ceremony.

Session 2 | Palestine/Israel in Domestic U.S. Politics 

  • Understanding the gains and losses of progressive Members and candidates who are good on Palestine
  • How do we envision working with Congress moving forward?
  • Free speech and the Jerusalem Declaration: Adopting a definition of antisemitism

Speakers: Dr. Osama Abu Irshaid, Executive Director for American Muslims for Palestine & AJP Action; Huwaida Arraf, Palestinian-American Human rights advocate, attorney, and recent Congressional Candidate for MI-10; Eva Borgwardt, Political Director at IfNotNow.

Session 3 | We Must Hold Israel Accountable Now

  • Refusing to investigate murders of American Citizens: Shireen Abu Akleh & Omar Assaad
  • No accountability for military funding
  • Visa Waiver Program: Continued discrimination against American citizens of Palestinian, Arab & Muslim backgrounds.

Speakers: Lina Abu Akleh, niece of murdered Palestinian-American journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh; Raed Jarrar, Advocacy Director at DAWN; Josh Ruebner, Director of Government Affairs at the IMEU; Diana Buttu, Palestinian Lawyer, Analyst, & former spokesperson for the Palestine Liberation Organization; and Ayah Ziyadeh, human rights scholar, advocate and our very own Advocacy Director.
