Greetings Comrade,
We had a great turnout at our recent hybrid meeting! It was wonderful to see everyone, and we will continue with hybrid meetings to make attending possible and accessible for those near and far. We learned a lot and hope to improve the experience going forward. Check out the minutes.
Labor Day is just around the corner, and we want to spend it together, doing as little labor as possible. We have a pavilion reserved at Boettler Park on Monday, Sept 5, from 2-4p. Bring your family and/or a friend; this park has everything, more details in the event signup. This event is for everyone-folks who are DSA curious, as well as members. See you there!
Local comrades, including a member of Akron DSA, have organized the Freedom Taillight Project to help folks receive free minor car repairs and help prevent unnecessary interactions with the police. The next event is Saturday, September 10th from 10a-3p. You can also support their work by donating to their CashApp: $FreedomTailPro
Are you new to DSA, old to DSA and want a refresher, or DSA curious? Come out to our September New Member orientation, the 11th at 2p, and we'll talk about what being in DSA is all about.
We also have a cleanup scheduled for Sept 17, 9a-12p, at Summit Lake. These cleanups are a great way to check out new sections in the area and give back.
And finally, our September General Meeting is on the 28th at 6p. In-person at the Main Branch of Akron-Summit County Public Library. Register now for in-person or zoom.
You can always support Akron DSA by paying dues monthly or giving a one-time donation.
In solidarity,
Akron DSA
