Governor Laura Kelly Announces
Administration Appointments
TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly today announced appointments to the following state commission, council, and board.
Wichita State University Board of Trustees
Purpose: To manage property, estates and funds given, transferred, and pledged to Wichita State University.
- Aaron Bastian, Wichita
- Nancy Snyder, Wichita (reappointment)
- Laurie Labarca, Wichita (reappointment)
Board of Examiners in Optometry
Purpose: The Kansas Board of Examiners in Optometry shall administer and enforce the provisions of Kansas Optometry Law so that the highest quality of eye care is provided to the citizens of Kansas.

Kansas Board of Healing Arts
Purpose: The purpose of the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts is the regulation of eleven healthcare professions and to ensure that these healthcare professionals meet and maintain certain qualifications in order to protect the public from incompetent practice, unprofessional conduct, and other proscribed behavior by individuals who have been credentialed to practice in Kansas.
Board of Adult Care Home Administrators
Purpose: All of the powers, duties and functions of the secretary for aging and disability services granted by K.S.A. 65-3501 to 65-3505, inclusive, and amendments thereto, relating to the licensure and registration of skilled nursing home administrators, are transferred to and conferred and imposed upon the board of adult care home administrators established by K.S.A. 65-3506, and amendments thereto, except as otherwise provided by the act.

Purpose: Review plans for the development, management and use of the water resources of the state by any state or local agency.
