John,
Women’s March is big on inclusivity. We fight for a feminist future for ALL, and if you’re willing to do the work with us, we’re happy to have you (bigots excluded).
You wanna know what we are Not Here for, though? Union-busters, lobbyists for GOP tax loopholes, PR firms who try to hide sexual assault for their clients, and consultants for Big Oil, Big Pharma, charter schools, and right-wing foreign policy hawks.
But big names in Democratic politics — like the DNC, DSCC, and DCCC — still employ firms engaged in corporate mercenary work, like union-busting, right-wing lobbying, and blocking progressive change.
It’s time for the Democratic Party to end all business with any consultants doing corporate mercenary work — for the sake of the future of the Democratic Party and our entire democratic system.
In 2019, the DCCC blacklisted vendors, staffers, and organizations that supported primary challengers to corporate-backed Democratic incumbents.
It was a shocking attempt to protect corporate incumbents by blocking working-class progressives from a slew of critical campaign resources. The Democratic establishment created this blacklist after AOC defeated the 4th most powerful Democrat in the House. Why? Because corporate-backed Democrats didn’t want to lose more primaries to progressive candidates.
(Do better, Democrats.)
The Democratic Party must be the party of the working class, of women, of people of color, of LGBTQ+ Americans, and of ALL underrepresented folks. We CANNOT be the party of paying consultants who do corporate mercenary work.
Thanks, y’all,
Women’s March
