*3.? New e-file application fingerprinting process implemented*________________________________________________________________________
Beginning Sept. 25, the IRS will implement a new electronic fingerprinting process for e-file providers, requiring them to schedule an appointment with an IRS-authorized vendor for fingerprinting. There will be no charge for this service. Appointments can be scheduled by accessing the link located on the e-file application summary page.
Each new principal and responsible official listed on a new e-file application, or added to an existing application needing fingerprints, must schedule an appointment with an authorized vendor. This link will only be visible to each principal and responsible official when the application is successfully submitted and fingerprints are required.
Additional information about the new fingerprinting process can be found on the Become an Authorized e-file Provider [ [link removed] ] webpage.
