John, it's Trudy Busch Valentine, your Democratic nominee for Missouri's U.S. Senate seat. I'm about to ask you to chip in a donation to help me flip this seat blue. But first, could you let me explain why I'm in this race – and why you can count on me to deliver real change in Washington?

Growing up, I watched my dad run our family's business, one that has been based in Missouri for generations. That business made it possible for my parents and our family to live the American Dream.

At the same time, the thousands of union workers he had the privilege to work with went home with fair wages that helped them build their own families' futures and achieve their very own American Dreams. I'm proud to say that my family's success story is also a success story for all of St. Louis and Missouri.

I could've made my family's company my life. But my dad always taught me that “to whom much is given, much is required.” So I began volunteering at our local hospital as a candy striper. That's when I fell in love with nursing and helping others when they needed it the most. 

I achieved my dream of completing nursing school and then went on to proudly serve my community working with abused and neglected children and people in hospice. When COVID-19 turned our world upside down and took so many loved ones away from us, I answered the call to service again by administering vaccines that finally provided some security and safety after months of uncertainty and fear.

Now, I'm running for Senate because Washington is failing the families who I've spent my life serving. In the Senate, there's just too much political greed and not enough compassion or hard work.

You can count on me to put families first in the Senate, because that's why I've done my entire life. And I promise you, I will be no one's Senator but yours.

With an open seat and real momentum to end the far-right extremism in Washington, I know that we can win this race. But I also know that I can't do this alone.
