John,
It’s almost Labor Day, and we’re pushing more urgently than ever for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to bring a Congressional stock ban to a vote in early September. It’s up to them to bring a ban over the finish line, and we’re delivering as many names as possible in support of holding a vote.
A long-anticipated bipartisan ban on Congressional stock ownership would mean ending dozens of conflicts of interests and restoring public trust in members of Congress, who would no longer be able to profit off of their roles in government.
If you haven’t yet, call on Pelosi and Schumer to publicly commit to bringing a Congressional stock ban to a vote in early September.
Thank you,
The CREW Team

John,
A ban on Congressional stock ownership simply can't wait any longer. Members of Congress have the ability to directly affect the fortunes of companies whose stock they own—giving them an unfair advantage in the stock market and creating serious conflicts of interest.
We’ve launched a petition calling on Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Schumer to step up and commit to bringing a Congressional stock ban up for a vote in early September.
Current rules on Congressional stock trading are simply not enough. Members of Congress can still actively buy and trade stocks while in office, and they consistently fail to comply with laws requiring reporting of trades. Since 2021, 67 members of Congress have been accused of violating the STOCK Act’s disclosure rules. That’s outrageous.
We should no longer have to wonder whether members of Congress are letting their financial interests override their constituents’ best interests.
Congress has made progress towards a bipartisan ban on Congressional stock ownership—we’re closer than we’ve ever been. Now it's up to Pelosi and Schumer to take it across the finish line. Call on Pelosi and Schumer to publicly commit to bringing a Congressional stock ban to a vote in September.
Thank you,
The CREW Team
