John – I know I ask a lot of you, but I’m coming to you today with another big ask because our campaign can’t afford not to. Our fundraising numbers aren’t where they need to be, and we need to make up some ground. If that’s all you need to hear, you can chip in now.

When you win by the tightest margin of any sitting Senator as I did, you understand that every single factor – and every single dollar – has the power to tip the outcome of a race. Even just $3 has the potential to make a real impact in a race this tight. I know that from experience.

In 2016 I beat the Republican incumbent by just 1,017 votes, winning one of the closest Senate races in history.

I talk about those 1,017 votes a lot. And they are incredibly important – without those votes, Democrats wouldn’t have the Senate majority – but today, I’m reaching out to tell you about what preceded those votes.

I’m talking about the hard work that we did to get across the finish line on Nov. 8, 2016. Because it wasn’t just 1,017 votes that sent me to the Senate: It was 354,649. And we had to work for every single one.

To earn those hundreds of thousands of votes, we put ads on the air to reach voters across the state, built a strong ground game, and knocked hundreds of thousands of doors.

We were able to do all that thanks to support from grassroots donors like you, John, who gave us the resources to build the strongest campaign possible. And in a race that came down to just  0.14%, every dollar raised and every door knocked made all the difference in beating the odds and winning in 2016.

Now, Election Day 2022 is almost upon us, and we can’t let up. To win in November, we are really going to have to put the pedal to the metal from here on out.

And that takes resources.

We’ll need that same army of grassroots supporters to help us. That’s why I’m coming to you today, John, to ask you to contribute $3, or whatever you can, to this campaign.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. If we lose in New Hampshire, we’ll hand Mitch McConnell the majority on a silver platter. But if we all pull together — as we did the last time that we bucked national trends — we can defeat the GOP and deny McConnell the gavel.
