“The parable of those who spend their possessions for the sake of God is that of a grain out of which grow seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains: for God grants manifold increase unto whom He wills; and God is infinite, all-knowing.”The Holy Quran, 2:261

Dear Friend,

As-salaamu alaykum. (Peace be to you.)

As you contemplate your end-of-year charitable giving, please consider donating to CAIR to help us continue our challenging but successful (alhamdulillah) defense of the civil and religious rights of American Muslims and the mobilization of American Muslim civic participation.

On December 11, President Trump signed an executive order that silences legitimate criticism on college campuses of Israeli human rights abuses. Within hours, CAIR began mobilizing to fight back – to defend our academic freedoms, our right to free speech and all constitutionally-protected liberties. Our attorneys are assessing a legal challenge to this assault on free speech in the coming year.

In fact, 2020 will be a critical year for American Muslims. But what we have accomplished together in 2019 gives us hope.

Look at what your financial support has enabled us to accomplish this year:

- Score a historic victory – the most significant in the history of the American Muslim community - against the federal government after challenging its terror watchlist in the courts.
- Uncover $125 million in dark money funneled by mainstream philanthropies directly to anti-Muslim hate groups.
- Protect Muslim inmate rights in Alaska after they were forced to starve during Ramadan.
- Defend Texans’ right to boycott after we sued the state for its anti-BDS legislation. (We are taking similar legal actions in other states.)
- Rally more than 500 American Muslim delegates from 25 states to meet with elected officials in Washington, D.C.
- Release a much-needed anti-bullying guide for Muslim parents and students.
- Report -- along with Jetpac and MPower Change -- on at least 38 American Muslim electoral victories nationwide in November’s off-year election.

In 2019, we sent a powerful message. When we come together, we change the course of history.  When the constitutional rights and freedoms of Muslims are attacked, CAIR gets results.

Much more work needs to be done.

The year 2020 is shaping up to be a very critical year for American Muslims, our nation and the world. Our robust advocacy and mobilization of Muslim voters nationwide in key battleground states depends on how much support we can receive from our loyal donors like you.

Despite the unprecedented attacks on our faith, other minorities and our democracy, we are witnessing a wave of civic and political engagement. We need to keep the momentum in 2020.

Can we count on your support? Democracy demands it and our future depends on it.

Consider giving whatever you can. We appreciate any contribution.

Sincerely,

Nihad Awad

CAIR National Executive Director
