During the last three-and-a-half years of her life, my mother couldn't walk on her own and needed round-the-clock care. At the beginning, we had caregivers coming in shifts. About six months in, one of the caregivers became live-in. She was wonderful, and made it possible for Mom to spend the rest of her life in her own home in good physical health.

John — We recently asked you to share how care has impacted your life and, wow, did you deliver! Missed our original email? See below.

We've loved reading your submissions [[link removed]] , and are amazed at your strength, empathy and compassion.

It's not too late to share your care experience, and to tell us what care means to you and how a care worker — a nanny, housecleaner, or caregiver — has made a difference in your life. Take a few minutes today and tell us how caregiving and caregivers have impacted your life and the lives of those you care about. [[link removed]]

WHAT DOES CARE MEAN TO YOU? [[link removed]]

Caregiving means everything to me. I am disabled, living in an assisted living facility and I have to rely on help several times a day in order to function. My life would not be happy without them [caregivers].

We want to gather as many stories as possible so that we can share them during our 15th anniversary celebration. We can't wait to hear from you and to read about your powerful care experience. [[link removed]]

Thanks for all that you do,

John — Maybe you’ve employed a housecleaner, caregiver or nanny. Or, maybe you’ve worked in one of these roles. Perhaps you’ve been on both sides of the caregiving equation.

No matter who you are or where you live, you have a care story. And we want to hear it!

We’re asking all of our amazing super supporters to share how you've been impacted by caregiving, and to tell us what ‘care’ means to you [[link removed]] .

Our 15th anniversary [[link removed]] is fast approaching and we want to share YOUR care stories [[link removed]] online and at our celebration event.

Your story is powerful.

It can be used as a way to say thank you or to inspire others, and puts a human face and voice to this powerful care movement YOU helped create and continue to fuel.

We plan to take as many stories as possible and share them during our 15th anniversary celebration. Your story will remind event attendees why we do this work, and will be the perfect representation of the care and support you provide NDWA year after year.

Time is running out, so share your care story today and tell us what ‘care’ means to you. [[link removed]]

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
