Tonight at 8pm Eastern, President Biden will go on national TV to address
urgent threats to our democracy. The White House press secretary previewed
the speech, telling reporters yesterday that MAGA Republicans present "an
extreme threat to our democracy, to our freedom, to our rights. They just
don’t respect the rule of law." Be sure to watch on major news channels.
As you know, John, we've been sounding this alarm for over a
year -- well before NBC News recently reported that "threats to democracy"
are voters #1 concern leading up to the midterm elections.
This cycle, PCCC members like you have made over 10,000 donations
totalling more than $125,000 to elect pro-democracy Secretaries of State
to count the votes fairly -- and 30,000 donations totalling more than
$375,000 to expand the Senate Democratic majority and eliminate the
anti-democratic filibuster.

work electing pro-democracy champions who will do what it takes to save
our democracy?
Following the first wave of hearings by the Jan 6 committee, the threat to
democracy has crystalized as the massive issue it should be.
Last month, Liz Cheney expressed concern that "We have candidates for
Secretary of State who may refuse to report the actual results of the
popular vote in future elections." National media reported that pushing
back on election-deniers running for office would be a major focus for her
after her defeat in the Wyoming Republican primary.
This past weekend, Colorado Secretary of State and chair of the Democratic
Association of Secretaries of State Jena Griswold warned, "The country
could lose the right to vote in less than three months...What we can
expect from the extreme Republicans running across this country is to
undermine free and fair elections for the American people, strip Americans
of the right to vote, refuse to address security breaches and,
unfortunately, be more beholden to Mar-a-Lago than the American people."

in this fight for democracy and I'm so thankful for their support in
Secretary of State races this year." Chip in $8 to our ongoing work
electing pro-democracy champions who will do what it takes to save our
democracy.
Thanks for being a bold progressive who cares about our democracy.
