First, the DCCC blocked progressives from the campaign resources they needed.

Justice Democrats

John,

Early in 2019, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) blacklisted vendors, staffers, and organizations that support primary challengers to Democratic incumbents — officially putting the interests of a handful of corporate-backed Democrats above the will of Democratic voters.

It was a shocking attempt to protect corporate incumbents by blocking working-class progressives from a slew of critical campaign resources after AOC defeated the 4th most powerful Democrat in the House. The DCCC issued this blacklist while corporate Democrats were employing consultants who engage in union busting, GOP lobbying, and work for Big Pharma, Big Oil, and right-wing foreign policy organizations.

House leadership was fine trying to stop the next AOC with their blacklist, all while using corporate consultants who block progressive change.

Our work at Justice Democrats is to upend the political establishment that works with union busters and GOP lobbyists. And we’re doing it by supporting the Squad and electing more progressives who will buck the establishment.

While we fight for Medicare for All and a Green New Deal, we’re urging the Democratic Party to end their work with corporate consultants and STOP protecting corporate profits. John, will you donate today to help us win more primaries against the Democratic establishment and its Wall Street-backed candidates?

→ Yes, I can contribute right now to help Justice Democrats overcome the odds and grow the Squad in Congress.

Even after the DCCC instituted their blacklist, two of our recruits — Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman — still defeated long-time corporate incumbents in 2020. We were not afraid of the Democratic establishment and we continue to win races despite the odds stacked against us.

The DCCC announced an end to the blacklist after the 2020 elections — it was more of a PR nightmare for them than an effective tool against progressive primaries. It hasn’t changed much of the Democratic Party’s behavior though — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi supported conservative anti-abortion Democrat Henry Cuellar against Justice Democrat Jessica Cisneros. Pelosi said, “I support my incumbents. I support every one of them.”

It should matter to Democrats WHO the incumbents are and WHAT they stand for. Just like it should matter to Democrats who the consultants are that work for their campaigns and organizations. If a consultant is doing union busting or GOP lobbying on the side, the Democratic agenda is not being served.

Support our work to transform the Democratic Party — into one fighting for the people, not corporations — with a $3 contribution today. We rely on our grassroots donors, so we can go up against corporate Democrats.
