Commissioners approve changes to wild turkey seasons for 2023

Turkeys in spring

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission approved recommendations for 2023 wild turkey hunting seasons at its Aug. 31 meeting at Fort Robinson State Park near Crawford.

Several changes were made, including limiting all hunters to two permits in the spring and one in the fall. Learn more online.

Game and Parks' Outdoor Encounter exhibit includes a 12-foot waterfall, a 5,600-gallon fish aquarium, air gun and archery ranges, sky fort, playground and much more. Kids can enjoy a wildlife scavenger hunt, and we will also offer an information booth with staff on hand to answer questions and sell hunting, fishing and park entry permits.

Duck Slam begins fourth year of challenging hunters

Nebraska Game and Parks and Ducks Unlimited are proud to bring back the popular Nebraska Duck Slam.?The Duck Slam officially opens on Sept. 3, the first day of early teal season, and challenges hunters to harvest a teal (blue-winged or green-winged) of either sex, as well as drakes of three other species: an American wigeon, a mallard and a northern pintail, all in Nebraska.
